For this assignment, you will choose an area of the Global South that you are interested in, and an issue that is of contemporary importance to that country or region. (examples gang violence in El Salvador, Rohingya crisis in Myanmar, etc.) Then you need to find at least 3 sociological research papers on that topic (from peer reviewed sociological journals – if you don’t know what this is meet with your friendly reference librarian). You will then write a 6-8 page literature review. Please be sure to consult the Princeton Writing Guide on Blackboard regarding how to do this. A literature review is not the same as a research paper.
