While there is no set minimum or maximum amount of artifacts required,
students are assessed on their ability to create a full and accurate snapshot
of the cultural movement within reason. Each artifact must be represented on
the annotated bibliography.

(AB) is a detailed list of the artifacts included in the cultivated canon. Each
artifact must be accompanied with a MLA citation (or Practical Visual Tag), an
annotation (note) summarizing the artifact, and explaining its inclusion in the
cultivated canon. Each artifact must be relevant and its inclusion adequately
explained.
Each artifact requires a
full and formal entry. Each entry includes:
- Title
of Artifact - MLA
Citation OR Practical Visual Tag - Annotation
MLA Citation:
Citations must be 100% correct with not a single error. They must be properly
formatted and adhere to MLA guidelines. Goes on a line separate from the title.
Practical Visual Tags: for artifacts that are practical visuals (items
that will be presented in-person), write (PAT) – including the parentheses – at
the end of the title.
Annotations do NOT have a
minimum word requirement, but must adequately describe and prescribe the source
in question. Annotations must include the following:
- Succinct
Summary: including notable information, and the central thesis or idea. - Eligibility
Requirements: relevance to the cultural movement (and common
themes, motifs, ideas, etc.) - Explanation
of Inclusion: why the piece was included, what it represents
about the movement

A brief overview of the artifact in question. What is it about? What is it trying to do? Does it have an theme? What is its purpose? |

How does the artifact relate to the cultural movement? Why are the two connected? What specifically makes it eligible for inclusion? |

Why was the piece included in the canon? What makes it the best representation? |
Answering the above
questions for each and every artifact entry will create a strong
annotation that contains the proper and necessary information.
Please Note: There is NO
word maximum or minimum for annotations. Students are assessed on the quality
of the writing and the ability to adequate describe and prescribe the source in
question.
